Morning Joe Co-Host Mika Brzezinski Criticizes Leann Tweeden For Being A Trump Supporter
MSNBC Host Brzezinski callously went after Tweeden alleging that Tweeden could be lying about the scenario because she was a Trump supporter and appeared on Hannity.
Brzezinski said, “So I’m surprised that you think a comedian’s picture of a performer, Playboy model who goes on Hannity, who voted for Trump — um, you know, I see some politics there, but I haven’t brought that up every step of the way because, of course, in this “me too” environment, you must always just believe the women. And I think that there’s a lot of reasons why we need to look at the women seriously and believe them, and in many cases — like, for example, I spoke to accusers in Mark Halperin, which, to which he admits a lot of what he’s accused of doing. I spoke to them. I believe them. I’m just wondering if all women need to be believed. And I’m concerned that we are being the judge, the jury, and the cops here and so did Senate Democrats getting ahead of their skis. And, trust me, Kirsten Gillibrand, I want you to run for president, but you gotta keep it real.”
You’d think that Mika might have sympathy for a fellow female but instead, she tries to discredit her and insinuates that she is likely lying because she supports our President. So if a female supports Trump and has reasonable political beliefs it is now impossible for her to be sexually assaulted?
Mika’s opinion came in light of rumors Al Franken would be resigning which is really telling on how she feels.
Her Co-host and fiance, Joe Scarborough, came to her defense saying that Mika had long thought that Democrats were Hypocritical and claimed she had been critical of Clinton for his sexcapades. Scarborough upset with the negative response that Mika was getting from conservative blogs attacked anyone for being critical of her.
For those critical of Mika’s opinion: “So why don’t you go back and you know, get your Juicy-Juice and go back in your basement and play with your legos and actually read up on a little history.” He claims she’s not being Tribal or defending Franken.
I get the defend your lady bit and agree that it is important to stand up for your significant other. But you know what would be even better than criticizing anyone that disagrees, looking at the facts. Maybe Mika and Joe could look past their political Anti-Conservative veil and see that after 8 women come forward it is safe to say there is a problem.
I don’t think it takes a genius to see that Franken has been engaging in sexual misconduct. Mika’s critical opinion of Leann Tweeden, the presumption that she lied about the incident or that it is politically motivated is in bad taste.
Her indecent response is demeaning and the kind of attitude that has kept people like Tweeden and all the other victims from coming forward. So shame on her for twisting Tweeden’s sexual assault experience into anti-conservative propaganda.
