Wait, What Did Trump Say About Taking American’s Guns. [Video]

Trump Makes Outrageous Statement About Guns.

President Trump is usually on the pro-gun side but with his recent discussion about guns, I’m starting to wonder…This tragedy has many people distraught and looking for immediate resolution. They are demanding all sorts of things from stricter gun control and bans to hardening schools by empowering teacher by arming them.

Trump has suggested that the age requirement be moved up to 21 for long guns, to prevent emotional teens from getting at guns. He also wants to harden school security and arm teachers to prevent future school shootings. But this next one is a head-scratcher. During a passionate meeting about Gun policy he said the following:

“I like taking the guns early, like in this crazy man’s case that just took place in Florida … to go to court would have taken a long time so you could do exactly what you are saying. take the guns first, Go through due process second.”

The NRA responded to The President’s stance…

“While today’s meeting made for great TV, the gun control proposals discussed would make for bad policy that would not keep our children safe,” NRA spokeswoman Jennifer Baker declared to The Hill. “Instead of punishing law-abiding gun owners for the acts of a deranged lunatic our leaders should pass meaningful reforms that would actually prevent future tragedies,” the spokeswoman continued.

I think The President let his emotions get the best of him, he has been dealing with this tragedy and aims to solve the school shooting problem. It’s easy to get overzealous and forget yourself. In a perfect world where we could say with certainty that someone was a threat to the public and could easily prove it with a confession or a plethora of evidence, that he was intending to kill, sure. But in the heat of the moment, I believe Trump forgot himself. We share this world with plenty of people who would take care advantage of this type of policy. People who would use a “disarm first then due process” as a way to disarm law-abiding gun owners. Hopefully, Trump will clarify his stance on the situation.
