Navy Veteran Defends Himself Against Home Invader.
Vietnam Veteran Carmelo Marchese was in for a surprise when a weird knock fell upon his door at 11:30 pm last Friday. His dog Daisy went crazy, at the odd intrusion in their peaceful night. Marchese answered the door to find stranger Joshua Bernard, who immediately started grabbing at his neck and pushing him.
Marchese feared for his life as this stranger attacked him. But luckily for him, he wasn’t an Anti-Gun nut and had not been gullible enough to destroy his weapon as people are doing in that weird no #onelessgun trend. NO Marchese was a former Vet and knew the value of a weapon. He knew that it could one day save his life and that day had come.
“I was honestly and truly in fear for my life.”
“I had warned him prior. I did everything I was supposed to do, This is my house, not his.”
Bernard did not heed Marchese’s warning instead he grabbed at the gun. Marchese still in fear for his life did what needed to be done, fired his weapon shooting Bernard in the chest.

Marchese doesn’t know why Bernard chose him but he obviously picked the wrong house to try and burglarize/mess with.
“I don’t feel bad about it. I don’t feel bad. This guy was a bad guy. How many other people has he hurt? I don’t know but he’s off the street, that’s all that counts.”
Marchese will not be charged for standing his ground, defending himself and his home.
“The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office said Bernard, who has a prior history of burglary, was recently released from jail. The 36-year-old survived the gunshot wound to the chest, and was charged Tuesday with burglary with battery and battery on a person older than age 65.”
Imagine how different this story would be if Anti-Gun nuts got their way.
